If you ever want to write a platinum-selling hit song and are wondering what chords to use in the chorus, it might be worth your while bearing in mind the chord progression: I-V-VI-IV

These chords have been used in some of the most successful songs in pop history. Ever since The Beatles Let It Be, this winning combination of chords has helped many artists to sell records in millions.

This mash features a number of recent hit singles based on this progression, which is why they mix together seamlessly. I had to change the key and tempo of most the tracks, but once that was done, putting the mix together required little effort.

This hackneyed chord progression has a very commercial (or "cheesy") sound, which is why it's probably the cheesiest mashup in the world!

Hey! Finally catching up on the last month-plus posts on GYBO... saw the post made in your honor from a while ago. Would've posted there, except it got locked cause the guy who made it direct-linked... So I post here instead:
Great mashup! I will note my amusement, that you're not the first person to notice the ubiquitousness of that chord progression, Norwegian Recycling's How Six Songs Collide sounding like almost the same song despite sharing only a single source with this one. So, congratulations on being compared to Norwegian Recycling, one of my favorite mashup artists. ;)
